So after bugging JL to join his crew in NJ, Skoula figured if you can't join em, beat em.

Seems like he'll be a third pairing guy. Which makes for pretty good depth for the Pens, IMO. Curious to see the financials, but I can't imagine it is much. Overall, decent signing.

He was a solid 3rd pairing guy for us, and is also a guy who can step it up when needed if there's an injury to a top 4 guy as well.

He got an overly bad rap in the Wild uni from Wild fans IMO.

Still a little concerned about not having him here. We gained physicality in Zanon, but he's not as mobile as Skoula. And Hnidy isn't on his level either. We'll see if it was the right move.

Yup. He can take on 18-20 minutes in a second if needed. McKenzie is reporting $575k, which is a great bargain for him, IMO.

I think I know how they fucked up like that... I have some experience with fuckups.

I wish I had a sig with a penguin with Skoula's face on it. It's amusing to think of him literally as a penguin. Sometimes when he fell on his ass he sort of looked like one.

I agree. Skoula cut down on his "DOH" moments a lot the last two years. I think he's going to do a good job for the Pens; good signing by them IMO.
