New Website/Blog Up & Running! Hockeyfanfaceoff.com

For anyone that is interested, I've finally launched the new website/blog/forum that I was talking about. Unfortunately because of money concerns, I haven't launched it via vBulletin, but with time (when I get the money) I will.

For now, the website is still being created, but I figured that launching it would help spread the word quicker than just talking about it. My website is going to be a one-stop website where there will be fan bloggers for each NHL team, full stats, schedules, pictures, videos, player profiles, interviews, salary cap information, and pretty much anything that you can dream of... all at one location.

Right now, the only that is built up is the team page and the links to each team's page. Within the next few months, there will be much more added as I am basically running the entire admin/set-up of the site.

I already have interest from about half of the league's fans to start blogging and within the next couple weeks, they will start blogging (as soon as most of the site is built). Also with time, I will be adding a new forum link to the site where everyone will be able to participate in discussions.

With time, there will also be a daily podcast featuring our fan bloggers from around the league discussing things about their team and everything else around the NHL.

Any feedback/thoughts are greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that this site was just launched this weekend so there are A LOT of things that I still need to add.

New Layout for the blog... http://www.hockeyfanfaceoff.com/

Each story will have a "Read Article" button to be able to read the entire article so we can have more articles featured on the front page without the need for making our readers scroll down a long way to get to the next story.

Also, each entry will have the comment section at the bottom of the article via Facebook so no one needs to register with our blog to comment on anything. As long as you are logged onto facebook, you are able to post away!

Get rid of the stupid "verify account" thing and I'm in. Why make registration any harder than neccessary?

OK... well I have no idea how to change that. I've spent 20 minutes looking to take that off and I don't find an option for it. Is it really that hard to click a link in your email one time when you sign up?

Still working on a bunch more other things but the nicest thing is getting facebook tied into my site so any user is able to "like" a certain sotry or even post their comments on each story as long as they are logged into facebook. Thought it'd be a great way to help spread the news about my site too.

Still have a lot of work to do, but it is surely coming together!

Just wanted to post an update. Things are coming along quite nicely with the site ad we are getting more writers as well as FINALLY finishing up the layout.

Thoughts or opinions on anything you guys would like to see changed or altered? Any suggestions or feedback?
