I put in an order for one this week... Black with red stripes both inside and out, convertible!

Apple Valley Ford already has an allocation to be built in feb, if they can, they will change it to match my order. If they can, I'll have the car sometime in March. If not, I will have to wait an additional 13 weeks....

No big deal, it's a 2nd car for me, and this car will NEVER see a winter road! Just a fair weather driver for sure!

had to do a double take for a second. i thought there was no boost gauge which made me freak out thinking it wasn't supercharged like all the other SVT's. but upon further review, i looked closer and saw the PSI instead of a battery symbol. lol

I don't have a DD yet... as I mentioned, either sometime in March or in May, depending on if they can get their current allocation changed to my spec.

I can't wait to hear those 550 horses rumbling!

550 horses, 5.7L and up to 15 pounds of boost will be fun. it will be the best when you can open it up on the highway and use that supercharger to full potential

what REALLY shocks me is that the SVT is better than the Saleen versions (KW's fiance could correct me on this if this has always been the case or not seeing as her family is Mustang nuts)

Saleen decided to use the 302 5.0L engine and just gave beefier suspension parts, the common exterior mods they always do and some interior stuff. BOO-URNS on you Saleen. If people are going to drop a lot more money on your version at least make it worth more the while.

I also think this is either the last model year or the 2nd to last model year for the Shelby... the 2012 Boss 302 that Ford is making is slotting right in behind it right now as the 2nd from the top Stang... I think this is a phase in period so they have a car for SVT to take over as the top dog when Shelby decides he's used his signature enough again for a limited production car.

Got some great news this week... I did get the earlier build date! The car has been assigned a vin number, should have a build date and estimated delivery date soon. I will definitely have the Shelby for Spring!

Last week I got the build date etc.

Build Date: 2/21/11
Estimated Delivery Date: 3/8/11

My dealer thinks the delivery date will change due to a quality hold that typically takes place with Shelby's... especially since mine is "One of the first 2012's being built".

No worry if it's held a little longer. Early March is a few weeks earlier than I was expecting anyway. That would actually mean a few weeks sitting in the garage for the snow to melt and the salt to wash away.

Got a call from the dealer today. My estimated delivery has been put off for a week for a quality hold (as the dealer expected). It's been bumped to 3/15 now. My dealer doesn't expect this one to hold true either though. He thinks it will get at least one more bump before it gets a date that sticks.

No worries though, thus far that's just one less week it will sit in my garage waiting to be driven the way the snow hasn't been melting etc. I'd welcome another week or two delay.

Well... I'm going to have my car THIS WEEK! I was just at the dealer getting the purchase agreement together. My car is in Cottage Grove right now, it could be at the dealer as soon as tomorrow, as late as Saturday!
