Wild vs Flames GDT 1/19/11

After a win as ugly as Stephane Veilleux's girlfriend (hope he doesn't come to my house all pissed off, but he needs an appointment to see me unlike 93X) the Wild head over to Cow Town to play the Flames.

Calgary isn't the big scary Wild killer like they used to be. Minnesota tore down that barrier last year and should stant a good chance going against the Flames tonight. But because the Flames are struggling, doesn't mean they won't offer up a challenge to the Wild. Iggy will be doing his best to put pucks in the net against the Wild goal tender.

Speaking of Wild netminders, guess who's back? Back again? Tell a friend! It's Nik Backstrom bitches! Anton held his own pretty well in net going 2-1 in the previous three games. Wild can only hope Nik can shake the little bit of rust off to get back to feeling comfortable in net again.

I think our boys pull through again tonight but it will be closer.

Well that ended up being an asswhooping. 6-nil and that includes whiffing on a five-minute major.

it is encouraging to see us beating teams we should beat and not playing down to their level. San Jose and Chicago will be a good test for us too.

This is the same streaky Minnesota team we've always known IMO. They're up right now, but there are more struggles to come this year as well.
