This has been a little over due now, but I figured I would put together a thread about myself as well as answering some of the things that have come up as of late. So please take a second to read. First, let me tell you a little about myself;

Some have wondered what kind of qualifications I have being able to run a site with just another guy. Well when you look at the thread in OT welcoming our other Admin KWright315 it gives a brief showing of his knowledge. But I do know he has spent a good portion of time on different message boards. He knows how the game is played and one of the boards he frequents (maybe he doesn't anymore, I dunno, you still hang out on PT) had some really laid back staff and gave a good impression of how a MB staff should be.

I too have been on multiple message boards and have been a moderator for the largest S-10 enthusiest websites, where they don't play around with things. The boards get run effeciently and it is made very clear staff who go on power trips lose their mod abilities. After learning the ways around there and being able to better handle things that have come up I feel with my experience as well as KWright315's experience, we will make this the most enjoyable experience possible for you folks. Essentially, what it comes down to is, if YOU the members aren't happy, then there will be no traffic, and this will sink faster than the Titanic. So really, it would be idiotic to go on power trips and have everyone scatter off.

Rules and regulations have been mentioned in several places and should be well know. But to reiterate and keep all of this info in one collected spot, bannings will happen rarely. If you advertise outside the means of the market place, post porn, or are just here to be a dick and cause trouble, you will be banned. Otherwise, you are all adults and can handle your business via PM or in the Smack Talk forum.

Simple enough right? No need to worry about getting banned for using adult language. No worries about being banned for posting a picture with a middle finger, etc. Also, if there is something questionable you are posting, please put NWS or NSFW (Not Work Safe/ Not Safe For Work) in the subject so people can know to open it at a better time.

FAQ's and How To's:

Two of the biggest questions thus far are video embedding and signatures.

How do I embed a video?

Click the "Post Reply" button and find the button that looks like a piece of film strip. Paste the address of the Youtube video or Dailymotion video in there and hit ok. Bam you are done! Or if you are really savy you can use the tags of [youtube] url [/ youtube] (minus the space between / and youtube). same thing with dailymotion, but just put dailymotion instead of youtube.

I put in an image for my sig, but nothing shows up?!

For some reason, the default setting (which I tried to change, but can't be done) needs to be switched. So, go to the profile button and click preferences. Find the area that says "Always Attach/Display Signature" and change it from "no" to "yes". The next time you post, you will have a sig attached! If for some reason (can't find it, lazy, etc) shoot me a PM and I can activate it for you.

Can we make polls?

Yep! When you make a new thread, if you look below the send and preview button, there is a bar (with black writing and hard to read, i need to fix it) it says add poll, click that small box way to the right that looks like + and it gives you all the options you need to make a poll.

Do you, 00Xtremeninja, have a beef with the officially represented Wild Message Boards?

I infact do not have a problem with anything over there. Well, sort of. I do not like how they sprung these changes on people all of a sudden and then opened the door to massive amounts of spamming from fans of other teams. A little friendly conversation/ bantering between fans is fun, but I can forsee it getting out of hand really fast. The MHF idea was something created spur of the moment for people to come to if they didn't agree with the changes or for whatever reason. It is something that could have been better planned, but wasn't and was executed poorly in my opinion. I wanted to open this space up for people who wanted to try and continue the same experience they had at the old place without too much difficulty.

Are you trying to take on the NHL?

Ha, David and Goliath right? No, I could care less about the NHL and I know the NHL could care less about me. I think some people are drawn to this board because it almost is like a Mom and Pop corner store VS Bestbuy. Sure the corner store might not have all the bells and whistles and huge selection as the bigger corporate store, but they have people who care about their customers and are willing to help out whenever they can and as quickly as they can. I thought KF always did a nice job handling things at the WMB, but now that he has more people overseeing him and can't tweak everything to how people want it, as well as being so wrapped up in other offical Wild stuff, it is going to be really hard for him to get to everyone. KF is A-ok in my book. The NHL and their way of planning things and not getting so much of a questionaire out to the people, the fans, that support their business on how they could make the change for the better bothered me. A lot of the participants on the message boards around the leauge are obviously supporters of the NHL and spend much of their hard earned money on the NHL products. Not too wise to piss off the people who keep you around. But, what's done is done and time to move on.

These are some of the things that have come up in the early stages of this very young board and I wanted to get them out to you guys as a whole and show I will answer questions openly and honestly. I know KWright315 will as well.

Thank you all again for getting the ball rolling on this, and here's to a long time talking hockey, sports, life, and plain bullshit!
