| we got the Gophs covered, but not the rest of the NCAA.
--IU got boned. simultaneous possession always goes to the receiver. look it up in the rule books refs. Michigan gets the win on a shady call.
--Oregon, holy hell. Makes me think that had we not made two mistakes, we could have beat Cal
--Florida St and Miami, I had a feel it was too good to be true that they would bring back the Big 3 again in Florida.

| I am loving this NCAA football season... all these top teams dropping every week. It makes me look forward to all the bitching that will go on when there are several teams with 1 losses, but only 2 get to play for the B(C)S championship. | |

| it was a bad day for my teams (Gophers and Nebraska) but more upsets going on with Ost losing to... *ahem* Purdue? I have a feeling this is going to be the year that people will point at when making an argument to change to a tournament format. | |

| tournament would be huge. how about the Big Ten just establishing a championship game because the current way of determining a champ sucks. | |

| actually I don't fault them one bit for NOT having a tournament, and under NCAA rules you have to have 12 teams to have a "championship" game (if I am not mistaken.)
And really, how hard would it be to create a tournament in football? -8 teams -Major Conf. winners + "at large" (that would go to any school that went undefeated first, then conf. runner ups.) That would eliminate ANY personal bias from writers or coaches... which is what messes this whole thing up anyways. -Rotate each round between the 4 major bowls (with the "previous championship" site getting the pick of the best two teams to NOT make the "tournament" and then moving them up to "first round site" the next year, then semi-final site the following year... and so on.)
You can still keep all those small bowls for everyone else, and you would have a clear cut #1 every year (and tell me that championship game wouldn't bring in even more money then it does today. Higher ticket prices, bigger TV contracts, etc.)
