| I just pray we don't have that 3rd period where we play like shit and lose the game, we need any points, win is best but losing in OT or SO is better then nothing. | |

| Great game and a lot of fun to watch...offense looked great...couple breakdowns on D but it didn't matter...we dominated that game especially a majority of hte 3rd...
Kobasew, Koivu, and Brunette line looked great as well as the Clutterbuck, Brodziak, Latendresse line (2 lines I wouldn't mind keeping together).

| Thats more like it from Kobasew. Some of us felt he'd play well with Koivu and Brunette, and he did not disappoint. He should stay there when Missthenetagain comes back. Latendresse looked a lot like Sheppard, a play here a play there but fairly invisible as expected. Sure its only one game but thats what I expect from him. Sifers should play next game for Scott, he got exposed way too much today. | |

| Kobastew got a trick, nice to have the wild win, i'm wondering if we'll start harding, it shounds as bax was terrible today.
If anyone watched the game how would you rate the wild's play in terns of energy and quality as to compared to earlier in the year.

| Backstrom didn't really play terrible, the first goal was soft, but the other 2 weren't really soft goals. They did play with decent energy, and didn't wear down as the game went on. They played good enough to win, and thanks to Koivu and Kobasew, they did win. | |

| Disagree. That third goal was fooking pathetic as well. I can think of another goalie on the team would have had his ass chewed apart for allowing that. Backstrom on top of his game wouldn't have allowed that. I realize that the defense is just as responsible for that goal, but it's the goalie's job to clean it up. Yes, Backstrom gets a longer leash because he's bailed this team out many times before. But today, his team bailed his arse out. | |

| hey talon, what did i tell you during those warm ups, Boogie got his point! soon his goal is coming! ha.
nice meeting ya today, i owe ya a beer next time we meet again. thank you again for the beverage.
game notes. backs could have played better, but came up with some clutch plays when needed. latendress could be an effective player for us, we'll see how he pans out over the course of the next couple games.
Kobe, thanks for the hat trick, i enjoyed getting the discount on hats at the lodge. lol.

| I was very happy with how the Wild played today. Backs came up huge a few times, the team had to save his bacon a few times, kept the Avs stuck in their defensive zone a few times, Cluster-fuck put a guy in the bench, Boogie with an assist... let's hope things start clicking now with these guys. | |

| one of these games I'm going to remember to post where I'm sitting (or find out where you people are) during games.
Actually I'm really easy to find... I wear a Wild "red" jersey with... *drum roll* "Zamboni #14" on it.

The 3rd goal comes down to the fact that a Hnidy-Scott pairing is clearly not a good idea at the NHL level. I'm not sure I'd want either even as a 7th d-man....

Kobe, thanks for the hat trick, i enjoyed getting the discount on hats at the lodge. lol. Nice meeting you too, you were right on Boogie's point, but I still doubt a goal is coming any time soon. I can't fault Backs on two of those goals... but I sure as hell can fault Scott! I mean, damn we know the guy sucks horribly bad most every night, but today was worse than ever! The first and 3rd goals were ABSOLUTELY 100% his fault, and he was lucky Backs saved his ass on a couple other bonehead moments! You could see Kobasew's game coming from the drop of the puck. In the first period, he literally looked like the only player who showed up for either team, he just didn't quite finish... well, in the 2nd and 3rd his hard work paid off, as his scoring chances started going in finally! Hey guess what, we now have more hat tricks this season than we did all of last season! Yay! We improved somewhere!

But the goalie still has to stop it, and Backstrom has been more than capable. He just wasn't "there" today. It was an ugly goal all the way around. What's scary is that this team has managed not to suck any worse with Mittens, Burns, Butch, Havlat, and whoever else has been out injured.

Well if you ask me, only Havlat of that group is a proven difference maker, which he has done for one game since joining the Wild. Bouchard, Missthenetagain, and Burns are all below average players for their salaries, one(Burns) is getting paid for the potential he will likely never reach, especially now with concussion problems.

I've been going in that gate for years, so you seeing steve, then running into me may have been out of the blue, but that's just because you hadn't run into me yet at that point. Get to gate 1 before the gates open, if I'm going to the game, I'm already there.

| You know how annoying it is to have a cluster of Wild players fighting for the puck behind the net, and then when they win the battle, they have nobody in front to finish the play? Well, Kobasew set up his office in front of that net today. It was so @#$!ing cool to see. He was always there. And when he got the puck, he got the shot off quickly. That was ALSO fooking awesome to see, since we have many guys who prefer to wait for the goalie to get into position.
It was only one game, but if he can keep those habits....dang.....how sweet it would be. How many shots did he get off today? He rarely missed the net! If that goalie would have had a bad game, Kobe could have scored a heck of a lot more than three goals.

| Russo - Quote :
- Latendresse arrived in Minnesota late Thursday, so with no morning skate because of Friday's afternoon start, he never even got a chance to practice with his new team. Before the game, the Wild gave him a tutorial on the game plan and new system.
"I tried my best. I expected a little worse. It'll just get better," he said.
Teammate Andrew Brunette was very impressed.
"I thought he played a heck of a game," Brunette said. "He probably didn't get rewarded for the work he was doing, but I thought he had a little bit of physicalness, and good puck protection. And [Andrew Ebbett] the other night, these guys are fitting in easy." Maybe some of these new faces will keep the old regulars on their toes.
