| lol, just messing around.
Talon be happy you aren't on the official boards anymore. People bitching regardless of what has happened today over there.
Nobody is 100% happy with any of the signings. kinda funny to read.

| Well... I can see why nobody is 100% happy... Cullen's deal is a little on the large side, and you can never get thrilled by signing a plugger.
I just posted the following on the HFboards...
We came into today looking for a Center, a Winger and a D-man... at most in the low to mid-tier range. Obviously looking at the market... there are some hella overpaid players today. If we were going to overpay I'm glad we did it for a Center than either of the other two positions. Based on the deal Cullen got, Fletch changed it up and said we're sticking with the D-corps we have, and will let a rookie fill the last D-spot. I have no problem with that, as Prosser already showed he's a lot more ready than I expected when we first signed him late last season. Scandella almost made the squad last year himself, and is only getting better.
I'm not THRILLED with the deal today, but I am pleased with the player choices I guess and think we left spots on the roster open where we actually have players in the system who can take those spots sooner rather than later.
On D, either Scandella or Prosser WILL make the team, and at forward, one of Almond, Wellman and Gillies WILL make the team (possibly 2 of them if Almond beats Sheppard outright for the last center position, Shep would be waived in that case).

| ok 100% is exaggerated in terms of how people should feel. but it is funny how quickly people forget how we had a gm who used to just sit on his hands on big days like this. | |

Cullen's deal is for 3 years. Nystrom's deal is for 3 years. Backstrom has 3 years remaining on his deal. Bouchard has 3 years remaining on his deal.
That's $15+mil in expiring contracts in 3 years... I think you are onto something actually. Fletch will have been around for what... 4... 5 years? I think he's trying to "deal" with the DR moves while trying to put his own "spin" onto things before taking his big FA shot in... 3 years when all these contracts are up.

| I do have to admit to liking seeing Boogie or Scott kick the crap out of some players... but at this point, having a "fighter" is a luxury that we (the Wild) don't have room for till we get our cap under control (getting rid of some of the DR contracts,) get some prospects in the minors and have some draft picks to actually speak of. | |

| They need to have the first day of Free Agency on the weekend. How is a person suppose to get any work done? Do you know how many walls I nearly ran into in the hallways, because I was refreshing McKenzie's twitter page? I had to put the paperwork down every 15 minutes to check for updates. It's criminal. There has to be a pill for this sort of thing. | |

| Nystrom and Staubitz are pluggers, not impact players. | |

| they aren't huge impact players, but they will make an impact in terms of grit and character both which we need. | |

| Every player makes an impact somehow, that does not make the player an impact player.
A plugger is still a plugger.

| i know, what i meant was that they bring to this team what it has been lacking for a while, the grit alone is welcomed, last year Harding got sat on twice i think by OTT, he never had to answer.
this team lacked those before, so i guess i see those two signings as impact because our team lacked them before. I'm expecting to see our grinders stand up for our goalies at least.

| heh yeah i hope, but if they at least step up for our goalies it'll be a huge improvement, i mean letting a guy sit on your goalie is just unacceptable. | |

| So is old man Nolan done or what? Maybe the Wild are just trying to lure Demo back. | |

| Nah no space for Nolan, he should have been traded last year, it was a mistake to keep him.
if you look at our team as of now
Bruno-Koivu-PMB
Havlat-Cullen-Lats
Kobasew-Brodziak-Mittens
Nystrom-Shepp/Almond-Clutterbuck
Staubitz
there is littelary no room to put Nolan, unless we do a trade, but even then we'd be able to roll 4 lines.
now if we had traded Nolan at the deadline for a prospect or for a pick we'd be far better off.
