| Not feelin the shootout here....we got lucky to beat them last year in the shootout adn they have the most successful shooter of all time (Wolski) so meh...not optimistic but I'll be happy if we do. | |

| Shootouts. What a blasphemous way to end a game. | |

| Isn't it fitting that Koivu tied and scored in the shootout? | |

Pretty much. Atta boy Mikko. Also, to DOC's point, that save was kind of cool by Anderson.

| Tonight's attendance: 18,175
Just barely hanging on. LOL! Doesn't really matter though. Even when the sellout streak ends, they'll still be drawing in more fans than most teams. Yeah, the sellout isn't legit, but neither is any other sellout streak in the league. Every arena has unused seats.

| Not going to win many games with that kind of effort. Both of their goals were easily preventable, Backstrom HAS to stop that first one, and Burns continues to show why he is not going to be on team Canada with giveaways like the one on the second goal, and his missed goal on a beautiful pass from Brunette on the PP, along with Schultz missing an open net, and Havlat's embarrassment of a one-timer and lack of doing anything with his shootout attempt. Yes, I believe in tonight's game despite being massively outplayed the Wild could have easily won this game 5-0 if they had capable players at certain times.
The even strength time really shows how pathetic of a product the current Wild are. How badly did this weak Avs team outplay us 5 on 5? They are the ones on the long road-trip, they had legs all game, the Wild don't seem to have any, despite having basically no one who actually looks like they skate hard, because they are all so slow. What happened to Richard's "aggressive" approach, the fore-check is just as bad as it was last year, yet guys are out of position all the time defensively.
I think Nolan is the guy to go if Bouchard ever comes back this year. The guy is so fucking bad right now, you put him on the PP and he's a detriment, can't make a pass, has no shot, and when he turns it over he is far too slow to get back defensively. Pouliot is standing in front so its not like they need him there on unit 2 and Bruno/Koivu/Havlat are fine on unit 1. Even Missthenetagain is more useful, and he can't even hit the net. As for that Sheppard guy, he must think he's still 3 because he didn't seem to know what offside was, and made terrible decisions with the puck all night.

| Sheppard was abysmal. He seriously had a perfect shooting lane open up in front of him at one point and he just sat there. Colorado put some pressure on him and he dumped the puck to the opposite point and shortly after, a turn over. If Sheppard has actually SHOT the puck...
Bleh. Sheppard sucks. Pouliot is proving me wrong now, though. He's actually going out there and working his ass off. Still some coasting.
Johnsson was bloody amazing last night. He and Koivu were both doing things with the puck that just flustered the Avs...
