| Still an embarrassment that we needed a SO to beat the Swiss. The "go-to" line is a line of players known to disappear in key games, and you really have to question the leadership(which when you consider players like Niedermayer you have to wonder how it could be. Maybe having all these coaches who run teams is a problem behind the bench as well) after a game like that. Too many players looking to pass, I can say Stamkos wouldn't be passing up elite scoring chances. Not impressed at all by any of our forwards really, Nash/Staal in particular, because with their size and skill they should be able to dominate, but instead they do nothing. Getzlaf, well I don't know where his ankle is at so its hard for me to get on his case. Our D has issues moving the puck and then theres idiot Pronger and his gamely stupid penalty.
Just wait till we have to play a real team. Looks right now like Yzerman has failed us like Gretzky did, but then again some adversity isn't always a bad thing.

| For the record, the jackass game is only taking a drink when a profanity is uttered.
Simple, yet effective.
And I was praying for a Swiss win. Ah well.

Pretty much man and I completely agree with the Stamkos omission. Now the question is who does Babcock go with in goal? Marty let a pretty damned soft one in yet Luongo made a couple of way tougher saves against Norway. Does Marty get a pass here?

The Swiss beat us 4 years ago and they didnt have an "in his prime" Hiller at that time. The Swiss have a grand total of 2 NHLers so they must play a perfect system or something. Some of the other lesser countries should take a page from their books. (Although without Hiller tonight it's a blowout)

| They find ways to keep it close vs the elite. Something Norway doesn't look like they can do, and something Germany should be better at than they are. | |

I don't really think the goal was all that weak. Its a perfectly placed shot, left handed shot down the left wing right off the post and in. Brodeur has big game experience, hell MAF has more big game experience than Luongo as well(more than Brodeur in recent history as well).
